Events that lead to the opening of Clare Bhawan: The Killer earthquake on 26th January 2001 shook the region of Kutch destroying houses and buildings and precious life's living hundreds of thousands without shelter and food. The Bp. Of Rajkot, Franciscan family of India and Caritas all came together to reach out in love and service to the suffering humanity to give them the healing touch of life and hope. On closing down rehabilitation program, the Franciscan family handed over the unit to San Damiano Province. Thus the first convent of F.C.C in this region was blessed by Bp. Gregory CMI on 18th August 2003.
